Abstract

Abstract :

Eleftheria Ioannidou’s Greek Fragments in Postmodern Frames provides a close analysis of the recent wave of rewriting Greek tragedy, demonstrating the wealth of “postmodern” versions written and produced from 1970 to 2005. Rather than the “depoliticized theoretical position” (130) normally associated with postmodernism, these versions, according to Ioannidou, manifest a thorough engagement with current social issues.
