In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

EDITORS’ INTRODUCTION AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Greetings and welcome to Research in Outdoor Education Volume 11. The articles included in this volume were all presented at the Eleventh Biennial Coalition for Education in the Outdoors Research Symposium. All papers submitted for publication were reviewed by a collection of scholars in the field of outdoor education. Those accepted and presented here represent a variety of methods and theoretical frameworks. Each article begins with an abstract and list of keywords. As in the past, complete contact information for the lead author is included so that readers can follow-up directly with the author regarding any questions. Many heartfelt thanks are extended to the people who have supported and made this publication possible. In addition, we would like to thank the anonymous reviewers that worked with the Associate Editors during the review process for this issue of Research in Outdoor Education. Finally, a special thank you to Frank Vernon, Indiana University, who served as the Assistant Editor during this issue and was instrumental in keeping track of the manuscripts, deadlines, etc. Thanks Frank for all your help. For anyone whom we have overlooked, please accept our sincere apologies and sincere thanks. Alan Ewert, Editor, Research in Outdoor Education, 2012 Note: Copies of the previous ten volumes are still available from the Coalition for Education in the Outdoors.
