Abstract

The author, a sculptor, describes examples of the works he has made since 1965. His active interest in varied mechanical and geometrical problems has led to the making of, for example, a nonrigid polyhedral section for engineering structures; a column of wood that takes advantage of the flexibility of the material; a column consisting of a length of chain held under tension by a series of wooden bows; wooden sculptures having bristle-like ‘feet’ that ‘walk’ when they are given a push; typological forms that he calls hyperforms made in plastic; and rotors with self-regulating openings driven by wind. Illustrations of these objects are provided.
