Abstract

Aligning Dictee with its historical author Theresa Hak Kyung Cha has been at once theoretically vexing and pivotal to the formation of Asian American studies. This essay reprises that topic by exploring an under-theorized dimension of Dictee’s formal experimentation, which involves how affect embodies the relation between self and world.
