Оскудевает времени руда.Приходит смерть, не нанося вреда.К машине сводят под руки подругу.Покойник разодет, как атташе.Знакомые съезжаются в округуВ надеждах выпить о его душе.
Покойник жил - и нет его уже,Отгружен в музыкальном багаже.И каждый пьёт, имея убежденье,Что за столом все возрасты равны,Как будто смерть - такое учрежденье,Где очередь - с обратной стороны.
Поёт гармонь. На стол несут вино.А между тем все умерли давно,Сойдясь в застолье от семейных выгодПод музыку знакомых развозить,Поскольку жизнь всегда имеет выход,И это смерть. А ей не возразить.
Возьми гармонь и пой издалекаО том, как жизнь тепла и велика,О женщине, подаренной другому,О пыльных мальвах по дороге к дому,О том, как после стольких лет трудаПриходит смерть. И это не беда. [End Page 132]

El mineral del tiempo se va empobreciendo.Llega la muerte, sin causar daño.Hacia el coche llevan del brazo a la compañera.El difunto está engalanado como un diplomático.Los conocidos se acumulan en los alrededorescon la esperanza de brindar por su alma.
El difunto estaba vivo, y ya no está,ha sido facturado con la música como equipaje.Y cada uno bebe, teniendo la seguridadde que todas las edades a la mesa son iguales,como si la muerte fuese una instituciónen la que la hilera comenzase por el extremo opuesto.
El acordeón canta. Traen vino a la mesa.Entre tanto, todos llevan ya tiempo muertos,sentados al banquete por el bien de la familiay para llevarse a los conocidos con música,en vista de que la vida siempre ofrece una salida,y ésta es la muerte. Y no se le puede replicar.
Toma el acordeón y canta desde lejosacerca de lo cálida y magnífica que es la vida,acerca de la mujer a otro entregada,acerca de las polvorientas malvas en el camino al hogar,acerca de cómo tras tantos años de esfuerzollega la muerte. Y esto no es una tragedia. [End Page 133]

The ore of time is becoming impoverished.Death arrives, causing no harm.The beloved is led away to the car.The deceased is dressed up like a diplomat.Acquaintances gather in the areaIn hopes to drink of his soul.
The deceased lived-and already he is not,Dispatched in some musical luggage.And everyone drinks, holding the conviction,That at this table all ages are equal,As if death is such an institution,In which the line starts at the other end.
The accordion sings. Wine is brought to the table.And meanwhile everyone died long ago,Having come together at the feast for the family goodTo convey everyone home to the music,In as much as life always has an exitAnd that is death. And you cannot oppose it.
Take the accordion and sing from afarAbout how life is warm and great,About the woman, given to another,About the dusty hibiscus along the road home,About how after so many years of laborDeath comes. And it doesn't matter. [End Page 134]

Después de mudarse a Barcelona en 2000, adquirió un interés en la cultura rusa y aprendió el ruso en la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas en Barcelona. Ha traducido a español los poemas de muchos autores rusos, en su mayor parte del siglio XIX.
J. M. Domingo was born in Huesca (Spain) in 1969. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Zaragoza. After moving to Barcelona in 2000 he developed an interest in the Russian culture and learned Russian in the Official School of Languages of that city. He has translated into Spanish poems of many Russian authors, mostly of the nineteenth century.
