Introduced in this issue is a new feature of the Journal of the History of Sexuality. It is entitled "Dissertations Recently Completed in Related Fields" and will be found in the back pages of most issues. I am very grateful to Prof. Jonathan Erlen, history of medicine librarian at the Falk Library of the Health Sciences and adjunct assistant professor in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, both for the suggestion that readers of the journal may wish to know what PhD dissertations are being completed in areas related to the history of sexuality and for his commitment to cull this information from various indexes and abstracts on an ongoing basis for the journal.

I would like to express my sincerest thanks also to my assistant, Ms. Lindsey Campbell Carrington, a graduate student in the Department of History at San Diego State University who has been an invaluable help to me with a range of matters related to the journal.

Congratulations are also in order for Deborah Cohler, whose article, entitled "Sapphism and Sedition: Producing Female Homosexuality in Great War Britain," that was published in vol. 16, no. 1, has been awarded the Crompton-Noll award by the GLQ Caucus of the Modern Languages Association for the best essay in lesbian, gay, or queer studies in modern languages and literatures.
