Contributors Chris Forse was head of Parent and Student Services at the English Schools Foundation (2006–07), in which capacity he oversaw admissions to ESF schools, and was deputy principal at Island School from 1989 to 2005. Eric Jabal is an English Schools Foundation teacher in Hong Kong and a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto. Jennifer Miller is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia, where she works in the TESOL area and pre-service teacher education. Her research and numerous publications are in the areas of second language acquisition and pedagogy, identity, refugee learners, and teachers’work. Janette Ryan is a senior lecturer in curriculum and pedagogy in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Australia; she is also a research associate at the Contemporary China Studies Programme at the University of Oxford, and director of the Teaching International Students project hosted by the United Kingdom Higher Education Academy. Martin Schmidt is a humanities teacher at the Hong Kong International School and has just completed an EdD at the University of Western Australia. Gordon Slethaug is a visiting professor of English studies and communications at the University of Southern Denmark and has previously been a professor of English at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and of American studies at the University of Hong Kong. He has recently been a visiting Lingnan professor at the University of Hong Kong and Sun Yat-sen University in China. Jane Vinther is a lecturer of linguistics and communications at the University of Southern Denmark.
