Author’s Note The first writing I did for publication after leaving the practice of law to become an author was for NewYork Magazine. It was entitled “The Crank-Call Caper” and recounted the frustrations inherent in having an anonymous nuisance telephone caller. Since then, I’ve written my share of novels and full-length non-fiction books. But essays and other articles have remained part of my literary output. Most of the articles I’ve written over the years have been about boxing .They’re available in fifteen books (eight of which have been published by the University of Arkansas Press). UAP has also published a ninth collection of articles under the title Thomas Hauser on Sports. Reflections covers different terrain. It contains virtually all of the essays and articles that I’ve written over the years on subjects other than sports. Some deal with public matters; others are intensely personal. Some are interpretative and analytical. Others are reportorial or whimsical.They’re a journey through life.
