appendix b founders’ prize laureates The year 1922 witnessed the establishment of the Founders’ Prize. The prizewas to be awarded at each Annual Meeting to two (sometimes more) members of either the junior or sophomore classes who according to active members (i.e., undergraduates) ‘‘most faithfully and effectively encouraged others in the maintenance of Eclectic traditions and ideals of character.’’ The prize was established by Nelson C. Hubbard (1892), son of the recently deceased William P. Hubbard (1863) and grandson of Chester D. Hubbard (1840). Brother Nelson Hubbard presented the first prizes to John A.
