36 Neptune’s Elegia he wanted to face what he did by taking a walk on the sand with his words and papers behind him in the trail of his shadow the sun waited to surprise him with the start of what would soon become his story in the time of his breath a second sun appeared as an ear for what would soon become his mouth a momentary breeze enlivened his step and tried to become a body between both suns shielding his eyes he covered his walk from the storm by grabbing his papers as they swirled around him each shadow attempted to catch each step as his words were now etched against a wall of wind and sand each sun remained on one side each eye on the other as he saw what he’d become by reaching through the mouth of the one ahead of him dropping sand from his fingers while caught in his storm each start emerged as a reminder of story what kept him in story what burned in his walk ...
