Script size has long been used as one of the factors to distinguish the early Irish legal tracts from their accompanying glosses and commentary. This article examines the role of script size used in Irish legal manuscripts and argues that it is an unreliable guide. Heptads 64 and 65 will be used as a case study to argue this point.
