Abstract

Abstract:

Maine author Rhea Côté Robbins has made the exploration of Franco-American women’s lives the focus of her robust corpus of literary and cultural works. While Côté Robbins voices the untold experiences of women in her culture in her own writings, as founder of the Franco-American Women’s Institute (FAWI) she has also provided a forum for others to tell their stories. In this interview, she speaks candidly about her own work, the FAWI, the rich history and culture of Franco-American women and the importance of developing an understanding of what it means to be of French heritage in America today.
