Abstract

Abstract:

Contemporary China's overseas security needs and security provision are significantly unbalanced, and the market could be the primary solution. Private military and security companies (PMSCs) and Chinese security and guard services companies (SGSCs) are different security providers available in the market. China employs both PMSCs and SGSCs for its overseas security needs. While SGSCs are a better choice due to their compatibility with Chinese enterprises and alignment with the Chinese government's goals, their potential as China's overseas security provider can only be fully realised when the pertinent domestic laws and policies become more favourable to the operation.
