Cioran died, hequoted the philosopher as saying that Polessmile not hypocritically but sincerely,because they’re Polish… and for Poleshumanity is always a mix of crying and laughing.In the momentous year 1989,the Soviet dictatorship fell,and Poland was free.

Yu Xiang was born in Shandong province in the 1970s. She has received the Rougang Poetry Award and the Yulong Poetry Prize. Her works include a chapbook, Sorceress (2002), and the volumes Exhale (2006) and I Can Almost See the Clouds of Dust (2014).
