We lost a giant of Texas letters on July 22, 2019, when Don B. Graham, the J. Frank Dobie Regents Professor of American and English Literature at the University of Texas at Austin and longtime member of the Texas Studies in Literature and Language editorial board, died following a stroke. Graham was born in Collin County, Texas, and in 1971 he earned his PhD in American literature from UT–Austin. After a few years at the University of Pennsylvania, he returned to Texas in 1976 and spent the rest of his life teaching, researching, and writing about his beloved home state. Like his students past and present, we will miss Don's good humor, strong convictions, and passion for Texas literature. [End Page 122]
