“Recovery 1: Spring Cleaning”: Traumatic memories are figured as the land surrounding an old house undergoing renovation. The speaker is startled by what emerges from under layers of old paint and layers of dirt, but makes her peace.

Abstract:

“Recovery 6: Quayside”: Anxiety is figured as a dilapidated shoreline: possessing a marina, but also strewn with junk. The speaker encounters tension between elements of stasis and elements of motion in herself and the landscape.
