Correction

The Jan/Feb 2019 cover was incorrectly attributed as the work of Maira Kalman, whose artist notes were printed in that issue. The cover art for Jan/Feb 2019 is by Polly Becker, whose artist notes we reprint here.

Polly Becker's illustrations are frequently published in magazines, newspapers, and elsewhere, and have been honored with a Society of Illustrators Silver Medal and numerous awards from illustration annual competitions. She has lectured around the country, had solo shows in the United States and in the Middle East. She is currently teaching at Rhode Island School of Design.
