Elba Noemí Gómez Gómez is Académica Investigadora in the Departamento de Psicología, Saludos y Educación at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO) in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Bradley Wright is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University.

Monica Rankin is an Associate Professor of history at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she is also the director of the Center for U.S.-Latin America. She specializes in the history of Mexico, Latin America, and U.S.-Latin American relations. She completed her Ph.D. in Latin American History from the University of Arizona in 2004. Her publications include ¡México, la patria! Propaganda and Production during World War II (University of Nebraska Press, 2009) and the general textbook on Latin American history, Exploitation, Inequality, and Resistance: Three Centuries of Latin American History (Oxford University Press). Additionally, she has authored chapters and articles on various aspects of Latin American foreign policy, gender, and popular culture during World War II. She has conducted extensive on the Office of the Coordinator of Inter- American Affairs during the 1940s, and will be publishing a history of the office with the University of Nebraska Press. Research for this article and other projects has been sponsored by the Fulbright Program, the Roosevelt Institute, the Truman Institute, and the UT-Dallas Center for U.S.-Latin American Initiatives.

Mark Setzler is Professor of Political Science at High Point University, where he directs the university’s International Relations program. His research agenda focuses on the empowerment of historically disadvantaged groups. His recent publications include research appearing in The Latin Americanist, Politics & Gender, Politics and Religion; Politics, Groups, & Identities, Social Science Quarterly, and PS: Politics and Society.
