carter burwell is among the most visible composers working in film over the past three decades. Over the course of his career, Burwell has scored a large and varied body of feature films including Miller's Crossing, The Hudsucker Proxy, Rob Roy, Being John Malkovich, Burn After Reading, Where The Wild Things Are, Twilight, True Grit, and Anomalisa, as well as continued to compose for dance and theater in such works as The Return of Lot's Wife, Cara Lucia, and Theater of the New Ear.

He has worked extensively with filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen, Todd Haynes, Martin Mc-Donagh, Bill Condon, and Spike Jonze. Burwell's score for Todd Haynes's Carol was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe in 2015. His most recent film scores include Todd Haynes's Wonderstruck, and Martin McDonagh's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, for which he was also nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe.

dan foliart's compositional career spans forty-three years and over fifty television shows. He is currently serving his fourth term on the ASCAP Board of Directors and recently ended his service as president of the Society of Composers & Lyricists after five terms.

Beginning at Paramount Studios with then partner Howard Pearl, Foliart has composed for television shows including Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Angie, Bosom Buddies, Joanie Loves Chachi, and Brothers. His body of work also includes Roseanne, Home Improvement, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and 7th Heaven. Along with three Emmy nominations, Foliart has garnered thirty-four ASCAP Film and Television Awards.

Foliart received his BA degree from Amherst College, and he had the opportunity to co-write the song score for G. D. Spradlin's film The Only Way Home with songwriter Tom Shapiro. His symphonic work, Oklahoma Trilogy, was performed in 1989 as part of the Oklahoma City centennial celebration.

ronald sadoff is associate professor and director of the Steinhardt School's Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions, at New York University. He is the architect of its programs in screen scoring and songwriting. Sadoff composed the music for John Canemaker's Oscar-winning film, The Moon and The Son: An Imagined Conversation, starring John Turturro and Eli Wallach. His other scores include Chuck Jones: Memories of Childhood, which screened at the Telluride Film Festival and premiered on TCM as part of a Warner Brothers retrospective. With Gillian Anderson, Dr. Sadoff is cofounder and coeditor of the University of Illinois Press journal Music and the Moving Image, and serves as chair for the NYU Steinhardt conference of the same name, now in its thirteenth year. Recent publications include his coediting of, and chapters for The Routledge Companion to Screen Music and Sound (2017). As creative director, Dr. Sadoff produced the largest live webcast of its day, Michael Jackson and Friends from Munich, Germany.

mark suozzo is music associate professor and codirector of film scoring at NYU Steinhardt. He received a master of music degree from Manhattan School of Music and a BA from Columbia University.

Suozzo has scored feature films and documentaries for filmmakers including Whit Stillman (Metropolitan [Oscar-nominated], Love & Friendship, among others); Shari Springer-Berman and Bob Pulcini (American Splendor [Oscar-nominated], Nanny Diaries); Mary Harron (The Notorious Bettie Page); Jan Oxenberg (Thank You and Goodnight); and Josh Aronson (Sound & Fury), among others. Suozzo's work also includes scores for the Hallmark Channel, HBO, and PBS. His original music has been performed at the Summer Olympics and the Goodwill Games.

Suozzo arranged and conducted strings for Creed's Grammy-winning hit, With Arms Wide Open, and has arranged for many performers including Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, and Reba McIntire. His orchestrations and arrangements for the New York Pops Orchestra have been heard in numerous Carnegie Hall performances and recordings.

dr. julia wolfe is a cofounder and coartistic director of New York's music collective Bang on a Can; she is also associate professor at NYU Steinhardt, where she serves as the director of the Music Composition Department.
