Abstract:
The poem “Bad Queer (Homunculus)” centers on a subject who is struggling with gatekeeping in the queer community. The poem is addressing the ways in which queer-identifying people have to construct and perform elements of our identity while also trying to avoid the day-to-day violences of a heteronormative society.
