462 Notes on Contributors Alice Hall Petry is Associate Professor of English at the Rhode Island School of Design, and a specialist in Southern literature, women writers and the American short story. A former Fulbright scholar in Brazil, she was recently namedan ACLS Fel1owfor 1987-88.Her book, A Genius in His Way, is being published by the Fairleigh Dickinson University Press. Jacqueline Tavemier-Courbin, cun-entlyon sabbatical in France, is Professor of English at the University of Ottawa.
