Abstract

In May, 1966, the ideas and methods of Marshall McLuhan were the subject of a study broadcast on the BBC Third Programme. The edited text of the broadcast appears below. The broadcast, in three parts, consisted of an introductory talk by Eric Mottram, an interview between Mr. Mottram and Professor McLuhan, and a discussion of McLuhan by George Steiner, the critic and Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge, Andrew Forge, the painter and art critic of Goldsmith’s College, the University of London, and Jonathan Miller, actor, writer, television host and director, and doctor. The programme was introduced by its producer, Philip French.
