A ship is out theregoing about its slow-motion business,neither arriving nor departing.
The lives on board invisibleas insects in winter.
A part of me with no namewanders far from the I whose cold handsare in her pockets,
far from the tenements and fish-packingbarracks that anchor the shore.
My true habitat: the not here,that maybe islandat the other end of a long gaze.
Back here, the heavy smokeof factories climbs, hesitates,
