The Cervantes Society of America is delighted to announce that Fernando Rodríguez-Mansilla’s Spring 2014 article, “La media rota de Alonso Quijano: Desengaño y cortesía en el episodio de los duques,” has been named the winner of the 2014 Luis Andrés Murillo Best Article of the Year award.

Rodríguez-Mansilla’s article explores the discourse of “courtesy” in the Duke and Duchess segment of part two of Don Quixote, arguing that such discourse ultimately represents Cervantes’s disillusionment with the court culture of his day.

The anonymous jury for the 2014 selection consisted of three members of the journal’s Editorial Board. These esteemed colleagues evaluated all the articles published in Cervantes during 2014 (not counting book reviews and notes) and chose Rodríguez-Mansilla’s essay as the year’s winning article.

The Cervantes Society held an award ceremony at its annual business meeting, which occurred in connection with the March 2015 Renaissance Society of America meeting in Boston. At this ceremony Rodríguez-Mansilla was presented with a certificate commemorating his achievement.

Congratulations, Fernando! [End Page 9]
