Abstract
The poem opens with the speaker performing an unspecified job involving crates, animals, and paperwork. As the poem progresses the speaker thinks of an unidentified lover, but the relationship is reduced to images of confusion, lips, and butter. The poem closes with the speaker becoming increasingly uncomfortable with her/his surroundings as disembodied images from both work and the thoughts about the lover flood into the poem.
