Abstract
“Masque Americana” is a cycle of poems that orbits around the deaths of Virginia Clemm and Edgar Allan Poe, referencing the odd circumstances of Poe’s last days, his genuine interest in hollow earth theory, and the diametrically opposed opinions of Poe expressed by Rufus Griswold and Charles Baudelaire.
