I wanted to write a poem, but I didn’t have a poem Instead I wrote a letter to a woman named Mary, not the one you think, the mother of god Then I drank a Vicious IPA My wife cleaned her car after months of neglect, and I painted the mantel an evergreen color When I finished, I touched up the fluff of a pigeon Coleridge came to tell me in a vision in a dream [End Page 133]
