Abstract
The paper presents and discusses Bolzano’s account of causation. It (i) relates his proposal to his theory of grounding, (ii) clarifies the ontological assumptions behind his account, (iii) shows the originality of Bolzano’s position by locating it within the recent debate, and finally (iv) discusses two problems for the account.
