70 Briefer Notices Friends ' Historical Society (London) Our British counterpart aims "to promote the study of Quaker history, and to further the religious beliefs of the Religious Society of Friends, by the holding of meetings and the publication ofresearch findings in Quaker history." The Society meets about three times ayear, often in London but usually including a day gathering elsewhere in Britain. Recent meetings have covered: Two views of the Peace Testimony and the Quaker Renaissance 1890-1910; George Fox and Millenarianism (Christopher Hill); Quakers and Industry (day conference in Leeds); and Sources for Quaker Historical Studies (Friends House Library). FHS will meet Saturday, June 25, 1994 at Carlton Hill Meeting House, 188 Woodhouse Lane in Leeds. Jean Mortimer will give the presidential address on "Quaker Women: Constraints and Opportunities in the 18th Century." Current membership numbers around 400 (both Friends and non-Friends). Quakers Uniting in Publications (QUIP) QUIP held its tenth annual meeting at the Quaker Hill Conference Center in Richmond, Indiana from September 23-26, 1993. Nineteen publishers, booksellers, and Quaker service organizations of Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom were represented. It was agreed at the meeting to compile and distribute a Quaker Books in Print—a listing of the titles of all publications in all languages dealing with Quaker faith, practices and concerns, which are currently available commercially. Such titles will include not only books but also periodicals, pamphlets , tracts, and both audio and visual tapes. The initial listing is planned for 1 994 with updates every six months in the QUIP newsletter.
