In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

A LETTER TO RMMLA MEMBERS With regret and with pleasure, I have resigned my position as editor of the Rocky Mountain Review ofLanguage and Literature. Because of my new administrative responsibilities as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at BSU, I feel that I cannot give the time and attention to the journal that it deserves. Regret—because I have enjoyed enormously serving as your editor since 1984. The experience has been an opportunity for me to expand on my earlier career interests in journalism and editing at the same time that I became more familiar with the day-to-day operations of a scholarly publication . Most of all I have come to know many wonderful people, people I might not recognize at a professional meeting, because most of our conversations have been by letter and by telephone, but people whom I value as colleagues and friends. Pleasure—because I have enjoyed the experience so much and because I leave the Review in the very capable hands of Jan Widmayer who has served as Acting Editor and as Book Review Editor. Jan begins her role as Editor with this issue. The new Book Review Editor will be Rena Sanderson, who has also served as Acting Editor and Acting Book Review Editor. Both Jan and Rena will do a wonderful job, and I wish them and RMMLA the very best. I would also like to thank the members of the Editorial Board, and most of all my colleague and friend David William Foster, Regents' Professor of Spanish at Arizona State University and my immediate predecessor as RMRLL Editor. David gave generously of his time and counsel in the early years of my editorship and has continued to do so when I have called upon him since then. The key to an outstanding publication is quality articles and expert readers who can distinguish that quality. I thank the many colleagues around the country who have conscientiously reviewed articles or suggested others who could do so. And I thank all the contributors who worked with me in preparing their articles for publication—for their patience with my queries, their quick turnaround of materials as we faced publication deadlines, and their enthusiasm for helping us publish the best possible work in the Rocky Mountain Review ofLanguage and Literature.
