VITAE THOMAS R. LYONS is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Colorado and has been Director of the Medieval Studies program there. A member of the Medieval Academy, he has published a "Medieval Book List." ALLAN DAVID FRANKLIN is Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Colorado. He publishes regularly in Physics Review and American Journal of Physics. JAMES P. GILROY is Assistant Professor of French at the University of Denver. He was an NDEA Fellow at Princeton Universty, where he wrote his dissertation on "The Abbé Prévost in Nineteenth-Century France." S. J.
