CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Craig Buettinger, professor of history at Jacksonville University, is currently researching slavery in northeast Florida in the late antebellum years. Alice Fahs teaches at the University of CaUfornia, Irvine. Her book, The Imagined Civil War: Northern and Southern Popular War Literature , 1861-1865, is forthcoming from the University of North CaroUna Press. Donald R. Shaffer, visiting faculty member at the University of Wyoming , will be joining the history faculty at the University of Northern Colorado this faU.
