Created in 1992, the Water Festival is a roaming artistic event. Its theme is water—the peoples of water, the history of water, respect for water, the symbolism of water, the creativity of water, the generosity of water, the work of water, the memory of water.

To honor water, we founded this festival that celebrates water not just as something that satiates thirst, a washing medium or an environment for leisure, but as a living being that links us to life and the pursuit of existence.

All peoples and individuals should be equal in terms of water. The world, however, shows us an altogether different reality. That is why our festival brings together an international group of artists who travel up and down rivers, looking for "water spirits" transmitted to humans in all their dimensions. We interpret these dimensions through different forms of art such as music, video, theater, painting, storytelling or sculpture. More concretely, the festival stops in villages and improvises contemporary creations with the villagers. These encounters and exchanges of knowledge are followed by a tour of Europe with some of the village artists.

The festival has taken place six times, three times in Africa (Niger, 1996; Burkina Faso, 2000; Central Africa, 2001) and three times in Europe (France, 1997-1998; France, 2000-2001; Europe, 2002-2003).
