THE CONTRIBUTORS GRETCHEN short is a lecturer in American Literature and composition at the University of California-Irvine and is working on a book project involving the intersections between domestic literature and U.S. internal imperialism. EDiE Thornton is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She has published on various aspects of popular culture, and her current project explores the relationships among magazine serialization, illustration, and cinema in the 1920s. David H. evans is Assistant Professor of American Literature at DaIhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Joshua L. CHARLSON is a lecturer and visiting assistant professor of American Literature at Northwestern University. He is working on a book-length study of American representations of the Holocaust.
