In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

The 1968 Meeting of the Comediantes The annual luncheon of the Comediantes took place in the Amsterdam Room of the Dutch Taveerne Restaurant in the New York Hilton Hotel at 12:00 on Friday, 27 December 1968. Because of the unavoidable absence of Professor Hannah E. Bergman, Professor John J. Reynolds ably took charge of the details for the day. A very good luncheon was enjoyed by the 47 attending . In the absence of Professor Bergman, the secretary, and Professor Arthur M. Fox, the incoming secretary, the undersigned is attempting to report on the business transacted. If there are any errors, corrections are invited. Professor Warren T. McCready, speaking for Professor Robert R. Bishop of the Advisory and Nominating Committee , proposed the name of Professor John G. Weiger as secretary for the year 1970 and Professor Joseph H. Silverman as the new member of the Advisory and Nominating Committee (1970-1974). He also announced that Professor Peter Bell has been appointed to replace Professor Bishop as Chairman of the Bibliography Committee. Professor Bergman is the Chairman of Spanish 3 for 1969, Professor Fox, Secretary , and Professor Sidney F. Wexler, the new member of the Advisory and Nominating Committee (1969-1973). In the absence of Professor Karl Gregg, there was no formal report on the financial status of the Bulletin, but Professor McCready announced that the Bulletin was "in the black". He continues to be interested in the submission of articles. Professor Jack H. Parker reported that heavy administrative duties of his own and of Professor Fox have slowed the progress of the Calderón Bibliography , which is now planned to extend through 1968, but hoped that it would be finished later this year. Professor Everett W. Hesse announced that a meeting of those interested in the Golden Age drama is scheduled at the University of Kentucky in April. It is assumed that details will be forthcoming as the time draws near. The undersigned advised of the possibility of setting up a seminar, similar to the old Comediantes' Conference, but devoted to a more restricted aspect of the Golden Age drama, and limited to discussion (no papers), to be held during the 1969 annual meeting of the MLA, but pointed out that the response to a similar suggestion last year was practically nil and suggested that the idea not be entertained further if there is no more interest this year. To initiate such a seminar, a petition signed by at least seven members, stating the topic and aim of the seminar and designating a discussion leader, must be in the hands of the Executive Secretary of the Association before 1 September. A request by the new chairman, Professor Bergman, for offers of papers for this year's meeting was relayed to those assembled. The regular meeting of Section 3, The Spanish Comedia, was held in the Mercury Room of the New York Hilton Hotel at 3:00, Friday, 27 December 1968. Some 137 people signed the register and there may have been others who attended. Respectfully submitted, Walter Poesse 16 ...
