HISTORICAL NEWS The Spring Meeting of Friends Historical Association was held jointly with the Friends Social Union at Exeter Meetinghouse in Berks County on Fifth Month 14, 1966. Members were encouraged to visit Pottsgrove Mansion, west of Pottstown, the Daniel Boone Homestead, and Hopewell Iron Furnace and Village en route to the meeting. Dr. Arthur E. James, our President, was in the chair. A brief and lively talk on the history of Exeter Meeting was given by Phyllis Grant. The main address was by William Taber, a member of Stillwater Meeting in Barnesville, Ohio, who was then a T. Wistar Brown Fellow at Haverford College. He spoke on the Wilburite Friends in the late nineteenth century and their expanding world. After the picnic supper, there was a brief meeting for worship in the old meetinghouse.
