Abstract

This report describes a workshop of the Spaces of Democracy and the Democracy of Space (SDDS) Network, hosted by the Department of Geography at California State University, Long Beach, in August 2008. The aims of the SDDS Network are to examine how new forms of spatial analysis shape politics and to consider what constitutes radical politics today. The components of this workshop are detailed, including an alternative beach tour in Malibu, a community forum panel, a scholarly symposium, and an independent study course.
