  • Officers Selected

Rebecca Lukens, English Department, Miami University, Oxford, OH, has been elected Vice-President/President-Elect of the Children's Literature Association for 1980-1981. Professor Lukens, author of A Critical Handbook of Children's Literature (Scott Foresman, 1976), has served on the ChLA Board of Directors for the past three years.

Reelected to another one year term as Secretary of the Association was Dr. John Cech, English Department, University of Florida, Gainesville. These two officers join President-Elect Taimi Ranta and Treasurer Alethea Helbig, who is currently entering the second year of a three-year term.

Elected to three-year terms as Directors of ChLA are Patricia Dooley, Tom Hanks, and Patricia McMahon. They join current board members Charity Chang, Ruth MacDonald and Peter Neumeyer, whose terms expire in 1981; and Lois Kuznets, Jill May and Priscilla Ord, whose terms expire in 1982. These thirteen officers and board members, together with the journal's representative, will comprise the 1980-1981 Board of Directors of ChLA.

Elected to the Awards Committee were Rosa Ann Moore and Anita Moss, who will serve a two-year term of office.

Elected to the ChLA Scholarship Committee for a two-year term were Millicent A. Lenz and Elizabeth Segel.

ChLA extends its gratitude to outgoing board members Stephen Roxburgh and Jane Yolen and to retiring President MarilynApseloff for their outstanding service to the Association.

Thanks are also due to the Election Committee, Martiea Batterson, Dorothy Mills, Bernadette Snider and Peggy Whalen-Levitt, and to Chairman Ruth Mac Donald, for a well-conducted election.
