Kalidou Sy

Kalidou Sy was a native of Senegal, where he served as director of the National School of Fine Arts and the National School of Art Education for ten years. After he and Professor Eileen Julien married in 1997, he moved with her to Bloomington, Indiana, where, in September 2005, he suddenly died. While in Bloomington, he worked on his "Bogolan series," "paintings and collages of acrylic, Indiana clay and found objects."
