Abstract

The articles collected in this special issue include contributions from a range of disciplines: economics, political science, law, philosophy, sociology, and science studies. They address a wide range of topics, from labor rights to climate change and food security, demonstrating that no area of international politics is outside consideration terms of “human rights.” Both the diversity of issues addressed and the complex picture that emerges from the examination attest to ways in which this global political language can have multiple and contradictory consequences.
