What I liked best was how you couldn’t tell if it was an homage or parody, but it didn’t matter. I think. For a while I was in the stairwell having a good cry with God. Does one escape one’s life by creating another and living there? There’s a difference between fun and insane, like when you’re home alone and call the police because it feels like your eyeballs are about to explode. Night escapes like a wet tiger, a bathtub is filled with lightbulbs. I’ve had pain in my tongue. I’ve stitched a pretty dress made of licorice. I’ve walked through the garden of misery. The trees spoke Spanish and their bark tasted like aspirin. I met a sensational horse named Jalapeño. [End Page 26]
