Nigerian-Canadian artist Chika Modum’s new performance identity: borrowed, enlarged, projected, traced & modified revisits the Rapunzel folktale. The work performs an embodied intervention into the story of the cloistered girl with the plentiful head of hair and re-situates it within the context of a contemporary, culturally-hyphenated feminine identity.
