We are pleased to inaugurate this series with Alcestis, adapted, designed, and directed by Robert Wilson from the play by Euripides, with additional text by Heiner MUller, and epilogue music by Laurie Anderson. Alcestis opened in March, 1986 at the American Repertory Theatre, Cambridge. This casebook Is based on interviews taped by Elinor Fuchs, edited and adapted by Bonnie Marranca, with additional material taken from the playbill, and an interview with Wilson by Nina Mankin in the A.R.T. News. Adam Parfrey designed the casebook format.
