THE scientific memoirs contained in this volume are of considerable interest. Drs. Klein and
Houston have investigated the behaviour of pathogenic organisms when inoculated upon
various farinaceous media, and conclude that the likelihood of infection of the human
subject from such source is probably remote. A number of food-stuffs were similarly
examined by Dr. Klein for the presence of pathogenic organisms, with the result that none

THE twenty-fourth report of the Board reached us during the past month, eleven months after
the close of the)'ear dealt with. We do not propose to attempt a full examination of the report,
or even a review, but we have endeavoured to collect what appears to us to be the tit-bits of
the mass of information contained in the report, which we venture to hope may prove to be of
interest, if not useful, to our readers.
