Antidepressant medications have a variety of uses in addition to the treatment of depression.
This article focuses on the two most widely used categories of antidepressants, tricyclic
antidepressants (TCAs) and the newer selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and
highlights their use in post-stroke depression and chronic pain.
