Excavations at Chaluka from 1938 to 1972 have been reviewed and strata of each
excavation season correlated where information permits. Carbon 14 dates indicate Chaluka
is 3500-4000 years old; ash fall correlations between Chaluka and Anangula support the
radiometric dates. Eleven major natural and human stratigraphic events occurred at Chaluka
with reef and marine economic activities present throughout. The Neo-Aleut problem is
