The Temptation Is
In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

to say it
too quickly.
But in fact
it's slow:

In six years
and a month
they got used
to the larks.

They could
have been larks
in flight and
singing

or could have
been larks
released
to be gleeful,

sprung,
lighthearted,
so light
or young

they got used
to being
as if to
the manner

birds
of a kind,
in fact
what larks—

living, passerine,
sentient beings—in
just six years
and one month more.
