Jason M. Barrett is currently assistant professor of history at Lawrence Technological University and serves as the university’s Director of Assessment. His primary research is in the history of American property law and economic culture.

Michael Ben-Avie is the senior research analyst in the Office of Assessment and Planning at Southern Connecticut State University. He has coauthored six books on educational change and youth development.

Stephanie Burrell is an assistant professor of multicultural education in the Department of Educational Studies and Teacher Preparation at Fairfield University. Her current research and scholarly interests include social justice education, teacher action research, outcomes assessment and program evaluation, and diversity issues in education.

Karen Donoghue was appointed to the role of the Dean of Students at Fairfield University in September of 2011. Within this position, Karen administers the Student Code of Conduct and oversees the Office of Residence life, New Student Program and Orientation. Prior to that role, Karen served as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life. She received her BS from Fairfield University and her MA from Rider University and has spent much of her professional career in Residence Life. Prior to her work at Fairfield University, she worked at Pennsylvania State University at University Park.

Marianne Kennedy is Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Southern Connecticut State University. When this article was [End Page v] written, she was Associate Vice President for Assessment, Planning, and Academic Programs.

Jinhong Li is a Java developer at Sila Solutions Group and a former computer science graduate student in the Office of Assessment and Planning at Southern Connecticut State University.

Raymond Mugno received his PhD in statistics from SUNY Stony Brook in 2001. Since 2002, he has been a faculty member in the Mathematics Department at Southern Connecticut State University. He has written articles that have appeared in the Proceedings of the American Statistical Association, Statistics in Medicine, Journal of American College Health, and American Journal of Health Education.

Curtis R. Naser is associate professor of philosophy and bioethics and the facilitator for academic assessment at Fairfield University. He is the creator of the Mentor system and cofounder of Axiom Education.

Ann Marie Rancourt currently serves as the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Keene State College. She holds a PhD in educational leadership from Florida State University. Her leadership at Keene State has contributed to Keene’s Integrative Studies Program being recognized by the AAC&U as an exemplar program. In line with her responsibilities, Ann’s expertise lies in curriculum and instructional development and in assessment. She currently serves on the New Educational Assessment Network Board, co-chairing the Academic Assessment Summer Institute.

Richard L. Riccardi is the director of the Office of Management Information and Research at Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to his current position, he was the project manager and student team leader for Southern’s ERP implementation as well as a systems analyst and Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education. He holds a BS in mathematics and an MS in research and measurement from Southern, and an ScD in management information systems from the University of New Haven.

Martha L. A. Stassen is Assistant Provost for Assessment and Educational Effectiveness at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also serves as president of the New England Educational Assessment Network.

Christine Unson is an associate professor at the Public Health Department, Southern Connecticut State University, where she teaches a course in health promotion and health communication. She holds a PhD in communication science from the University of Connecticut. [End Page vi]
