David Bushnell's short biography of the liberator Simón Bolívar appears in a new series of biographies published by Pearson Longman in their Library of World Biography series.Bushnell provides the reader with a brief yet well-written biography in a format easily adaptable for classroom use.He focuses on the many contradictions in Bolívar's life, the outline of his rise to fame and power, the development of his crucial policies, and the impact that he has had on the development of modern Latin America. The book would be a good tool to accompany undergraduate courses on the Independence movements.
