This issue’s masthead page registers a number of changes to our editorial board. Some of our longest serving members have become emeritus advisors, and their names have been removed from the masthead but will continue to appear on our website, www.sel.rice.edu. The masthead also includes the names of numerous new appointees to our board. We are acknowledging our emeritus members and welcoming our new advisors over the course of four issues, according to the area of specialty.

With this autumn issue we specifically welcome as emeritus advisors to our board three of the most respected nineteenth-century scholars, Elizabeth Jean Langland, Professor of English at Arizona State University; Robert W. Langbaum, Professor Emeritus of English at The University of Virginia; and Alexander Welsh, Professor Emeritus of English at Yale University. Their wise advice over decades has led to the publication of many of the finest contributions to our Nineteenth Century autumn issues.

Nineteenth-century specialists new to the masthead are Peter de Bolla, Fellow of King’s College and Professor of English at the University of Cambridge; Angela Esterhammer, Professor of English at the University of Toronto; and Susan Wolfson, Professor of English at Princeton University. We know they will be a great help in encouraging and developing submissions from a wide variety of sources for both our summer and autumn issues. [End Page v]
